Data Loss - A NightmareFebruary 11th, 2008

The biggest nightmare for any computer based business is loss of data and the biggest shock is when this nightmare becomes true. The data loss means loss in business. Thus it is advised to keep a backup of the data. And when data loss happened in the absence of backup then it creates havoc in the company. The loss in data can be because of hardware failure, intentional deletion of files by some enemy or by accidental deletion of files.

But thanks to some good people who did some research and found a reverse engineering way to recover deleted files. The files that have been deleted from the computer can be recovered back using file recovery software. The software searches the hard disk for the lost chains of data and finds the file you require. This can be achieved because when a file gets deleted it get de linked from the allocation table but the memory it occupies does not get blank but it is given a mark that this space is free. So, the recovery software finds the free links and search information in it. But if you have written some data onto the disk after the deletion, then the chance of the data getting overwritten on the deleted file increase and chance of windows xp data recovery decreases.
