Communication Is the Key for Better TreatmentMarch 14th, 2008
Whenever I visit my psychiatrist, it appears to me that I am just going to visit an old friend of mine. The people in psychiatry jobs are just like great friends, who are always there to share your problems and provide a solution for them. Well! It is not only in the case of a psychiatrist, but in other doctor jobs as well. What I mean to say is that you need to communicate well with your doctor to bring out the proper description of your problem.
There are few people, who are very specific while talking to a medical expert. I never got to know the reason behind this mentality of people. According to me, it is of great significance to have fruitful communication with your doctor. This not only helps the doctor to fully understand your problem, but also strengthens the bond of trust between two different people. According to a friend of mine, who is working in a physician recruitment agency, communication is the key to avail a better treatment from your doctor.
My psychiatrist also supports my point of view. He says that he is more comfortable with people, who are good at verbally expressing their thought process. Though it is part of his profession to deal with all types of patients, still it makes a huge difference in the way of treatment, if a person provides support for his or her own treatment. Thus, it is of great value to express out yourself loud to people in physician jobs.
